DTF Pressing Instructions

🔥 InkDura® DTF Pressing Instructions

Professional Results • Long-Lasting Wear

🧼 Step 1: Pre-Press

⏱️ 5–10 seconds

Pre-press the garment to remove moisture and wrinkles.
This ensures proper adhesion and a smooth final finish.

📐 Step 2: Position Transfer

🎯 Place the transfer in the desired position on the garment.
📋 Refer to the DTF Pressing Cheat Sheet below for correct temperature, pressure, and press time based on material type.

🔥 Step 3: Initial Press

🖨️ Press using the recommended settings from the cheat sheet.

✂️ Step 4: Peel Instructions

♨️ Wait a few seconds, then HOT PEEL the transfer.

📝 Important Peel Note:
InkDura transfers are printed on hot peel paper by default, unless you are specifically notified otherwise.

Cold Peel Transfers (Specialty Films):
The following InkDura specialty DTF papers require a COLD PEEL:

  • Glitter
  • 🌙 Glow-In-The-Dark
  • 🚨 Reflective

👉 Allow the transfer to cool completely before peeling when using these specialty films.

❗ If any part of the design lifts:

  • Lay the transfer back down
  • Re-press with slightly more pressure and +15°F heat

Step 5: Final Press (DO NOT SKIP)

🛑 This step separates average prints from premium InkDura results.

Cover the design using ONE of the following:

  • 👕 Cotton cloth (old T-shirt works great)
  • 📄 Teflon or parchment paper
  • 🧵 Canvas or sandpaper (for reduced shine / matte finish)

⏱️ Press again for 10–15 seconds.

✅ Final Press Benefits:

  • Softens the design
  • Increases durability
  • Improves wash longevity
  • Controls final finish (matte vs glossy)

Glossy Finish: Use a smooth protective sheet
🖤 Matte / Reduced-Gloss Finish: Use canvas or sandpaper

⚠️ Important Notes

⚙️ All heat presses are different.
Temperature, pressure, and press time may vary depending on your machine.

🔧 If you experience adhesion or peeling issues:

  • Adjust one variable at a time
  • Small changes make a big difference
